Following the July War of 2006, HFHL implemented a Disaster Response program to serve families whose homes required repair or reconstruction. By its completion in 2008, the Disaster Response reached over 1,660 families. HFHL’s response focused on accelerating, monitoring, and funding the repair and reconstruction of homes impacted. This was complimented by an intentional effort to stimulate local economies in the service area. The program was implemented in three separate components: Rapid Shelter Recovery and Resettlement, Vocational Training and Shelter Repair and Protection.
HFH has also responded by complimenting this reconstruction by a technical support service and supervision for both the municipalities and families in the design and finalization of executable architectural plans for their new homes.
